job summary

The YouTube Growth Lead will own publishing operations and channel growth across College Sports Co’s network of college sports YouTube channels. You’ll set the publishing calendar, curate Shorts and long-form content from new and archived footage, and use performance data to shape what gets made next. Working closely with the videography and editing teams, you’ll keep branding and metadata consistent across every channel while spotting the moments worth moving fast on. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how content actually grows on YouTube and thrives in a high-volume, digital-first sports media environment. Offered as an internship for college credit.

key responsibilities

Publishing Operations & Channel Management

  • Own the publishing calendar, setting priorities and content selections across the assigned network of channels.
  • Upload, schedule, and QA Shorts and long-form videos, including metadata, playlists, chapters, end screens, captions, and pinned comments.
  • Maintain consistent channel branding and metadata standards — titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails — across every assigned channel.

Content Sourcing & Curation

  • Search new and archived footage for Shorts and highlight candidates, and decide what makes the cut.
  • Coordinate with the videography and editing team to flag standout moments and align on turnaround for time-sensitive clips.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Maintain weekly reporting dashboards covering network-wide trends, individual channel performance, and future programming decisions.
  • Track views, watch time, audience retention, click-through rate, and subscriber growth, and surface the insights that inform programming and optimisation.

Platform Optimisation & Growth

  • Optimise titles, descriptions, tags, chapters, and playlists for search and discovery on YouTube.
  • Apply platform best practices for Shorts and long-form content — hooks, packaging, thumbnails, and posting cadence — to grow reach and engagement.

Organisation & Asset Management

  • Keep publishing logs, source-footage references, and reporting organised and backed up in shared drives.
  • Communicate clearly with the editing team to provide context on scheduled and published content.
